Church attendance tracking

Replace the paper register with check-in on a phone. FaithDash records attendance for any service or event, shows trends over time, and keeps working when the signal drops: check-ins sync automatically when you're back online.

Why track attendance at all?

Attendance is the earliest sign of how a congregation is doing. A member who misses three Sundays in a row usually isn't announcing it. A paper register shows who came, but nobody has time to go back through the pages and notice who stopped coming. Digital attendance tracking does that noticing for you.

How check-in works

  • Pick the service or event: Sunday first service, midweek fellowship, youth camp day 2, anything you've created in Events, including recurring ones.
  • Search by name and tap to check in, or check in several people at once.
  • Visitors register themselves by scanning the church's QR code, so new faces end up in the same system.
  • Give ushers check-in access only. Team permissions let a volunteer check people in without seeing billing or sending messages.

Works offline

FaithDash can be installed to a phone's home screen. If the connection drops during the service, the usher keeps checking people in. Check-ins are queued on the phone and sync automatically when the signal returns, and the app confirms once they have synced. Load-shedding and weak rural signal don't cost you the register.

Attendance analytics

  • Attendance across services over time
  • Analytics for each event, showing who attended that event
  • Filter by tag, for example to see how the youth or the choir are attending
  • Spot the members who have stopped coming before they quietly disappear

Turn attendance into action

Attendance and messaging live in the same system, so you can act on what you see:

What you noticeWhat to do in FaithDash
Strong turnout at a special serviceAn attendee follow-up thanks everyone who came, a set number of days afterwards
A big event coming upAn event reminder goes out a set number of days or hours before it starts
A tag group attending lessSend a message to just that tag
First-time visitors at the serviceTheir visitor follow-up sequence is already running

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to track church attendance?

Use a system that records each check-in against a named service or event and keeps the history, so you can compare over time and see who has stopped coming. FaithDash does this on a phone, works offline, and connects attendance to SMS follow-up.

Can ushers check people in on their own phones?

Yes. Invite them to the church's team with check-in permission only. They can use FaithDash in the browser, or install it to their home screen.

Does attendance tracking work without internet?

Yes. With FaithDash installed on the phone, check-ins made offline are stored on the device and synced automatically when the connection comes back.

Can I message only the people who attended an event?

Yes. Attendee follow-up rules send automatically to the people checked in at an event, a set number of days after it ends.

Can I export attendance or member lists?

Member lists, filtered however you like, can be exported to PDF or Excel from the Members page.
