The problem with visitor cards
The visitor card is filled in, dropped in a basket, and handed to someone after the service. By the time it's typed up, sometimes days later, the handwriting is hard to read, the phone number is missing a digit, and the visitor has already decided whether they felt welcome. Follow-up depends on one busy person remembering.
How FaithDash handles it
- QR code at the entrance. FaithDash generates a QR code for your church. Print it on a banner, the bulletin or the welcome table.
- The visitor registers themselves. They scan it with their phone camera and fill in a short web form. They don't download an app or create an account.
- They're in your database straight away, marked as a visitor, ready to be texted, tracked and welcomed back.
- The follow-up sequence starts. A rule you set once sends a series of messages, each a set number of days after registration, at the time of day you choose.
An example sequence
Every new church starts with a ready-made three-message sequence (day 1, day 3 and day 7) that you can reword, reschedule or extend. The templates below are examples. Write yours in your church's own voice, in English, Luganda or both.
| When | Message |
|---|---|
| Same day | Hi {{name}}, thank you for worshipping with us at {{church}} today! We're glad you came. |
| Day 3 | Hi {{name}}, it was good to meet you. If you'd like prayer or have questions, call our office any time. |
| Day 6 | Hi {{name}}, we'd love to see you again this Sunday at 9am. You're welcome at {{church}}. |
Merge fields such as {{name}}, {{church}} and {{date}} are filled in for each visitor, so every message reads like it was written to them.
Why automatic follow-up works
- Speed: the first message arrives while the visit is still fresh.
- Consistency: every visitor gets the same care, even on the Sunday the welcome-team leader was away.
- No forgotten cards: the visitor typed their own number, so there's nothing to copy up.
- Visibility: visitors are a segment in your database. Message "Visitors only" at any time, and check in on who came back.
What it costs
Each follow-up message is an ordinary SMS at UGX 35 per part. A three-message, one-part sequence costs UGX 105 per visitor. Fifteen visitors a month on that sequence costs UGX 1,575. The platform itself is free, and your first 100 SMS are free once your church phone number is verified.
Frequently asked questions
How do I follow up with church visitors?
Contact them within a day, personally, and more than once. In FaithDash, visitors register by QR code and a follow-up sequence you set up once sends a personalised welcome SMS the same day, with more messages on the following days. Nobody on the team has to remember.
Do visitors need to download an app?
No. They scan a QR code with their phone camera and fill in a short web form in the browser.
Can I change or pause the follow-up messages?
Yes. Each automation rule is edited through a form and can be switched on or off at any time.
What happens when a visitor becomes a member?
Update their status in the member record. From then on they're included in "Members only" sends rather than "Visitors only" sends, and their history stays attached to the same record.
